This ground level project features a custom shade structure off the garage on the side yard of the client’s property. The structure stands as a focal point in the yard and offers a shady spot when watching the kids play. The unused garage transformed into a game and play space with synthetic turf softening the existing concrete floor.
The curvilinear layout of the existing landscape dictated the shape of the steel structure with perforated metal panels inset on top. The circular design in the metal panels create a playful shade pattern keeping with the kid friendly design aesthetic.
