This rooftop deck, which sits atop one of Chicago’s most luxurious high-rise towers, offers three separate outdoor spaces, all with breathtaking views of the city’s skyline. To keep par with the home-owner’s recently remodeled interior, we opted for a very sleek and simple design using only the most high end outdoor building materials.

On the South end of the space, we built a custom concrete fire-pit with a beautiful wood striped detail running through the fire-pit.  In addition to the fire-pit, we constructed a custom communal dining table out of steel, ipe, and concrete.  To achieve a more finished aesthetic, we installed ipe wall cladding from wall to wall on both sides of the space.

On the North end, is a putting green as well as a planter filled with low birch branches running the length of the windows. We used synthetic turf and the same birch branch screening to achieve a nice transition from the North space to the South space that really blended to two together seemlessly.
