The Roof Deck of a Pro Athlete (Chicago Edition)

Here in Chicago, we love our sports icons, and nothing gives us more of a thrill than spotting one of our favorite athletes out on the streets mixing it up with us regulars.  And just like us regulars, these highly talented, exceptionally athletic individuals love nothing more than some serious R&R time, and where better to relax than up on your roof deck? Because Pro Athletes are busy traveling 75% of the year, their homes are a place of peace and sanctuary, especially during the off season and therefore should reflect their passions and accommodate their lifestyles.  That’s why this week, we are taking it upon ourselves to imagine what 5 of our favorite Chicago Pro Athletes would have to include in their roof decks or outdoor spaces.

Kris Bryant – If you didn’t know, this guy LOVES a good steak.  I am pretty sure there hasn’t been an interview with Kris since he has been a Cub, where he doesn’t mention his insatiable craving for steak.  For that reason, we can’t think of anything that Kris would use more up on his River-North High Rise, than this beauty by Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet.  No doubt about it, this grill is the cream of the crop.  The only question is: Rare, medium, or well-done, Kris?

Jimmy Butler – If you haven’t already seen Jimmy’s custom aquarium that he had installed in his house last year, check it out here.  So for Jimmy and his apparent passion for aquatic creatures, we would recommend an equally badass aquarium for his roof deck.  Imagine walking on top of a layer of glass and looking down at an entire ecosystem of colorful, and exotic fish beneath your feet.  Yes Jimmy, if you are reading this, we are proposing we install an aquarium right into the floor of your roof deck! Hopefully your roof can handle 1,000,000 pounds/s.f.  See following image for inspiration:

Joe Maddon – “My goal in life is to eventually own a bar named the Pink Flamingo. If that ever happens, you know I’ve made it” -Joe Maddon- Well Joe, I don’t see why we can’t make that dream a reality right in your own home.  We’re talking about a full scale roof deck bar complete with flamingo decor and all the works.

And after the cubs win the world series, you know where he'll be... Brent Seabrook – Word has it the guy loves to crush cold beers like they’re the Tampa Bay Lighting…  Word also has it he recently listed his humble abode in Roscoe Village… Something tells us he would be all over this growler wall for his new home…

The Growler Wall - The perfect way to say 'I freaking love beer, but I also appreciate good design.' The Growler Wall – The perfect way to say ‘I freaking love beer, but I also appreciate good design.’ Growlers for days... Growlers for days…

Dwyane Wade – Wade’s son, Zaire Wade, might just be the next big thing… And you know what they say: Practice makes perfect.  So for the Wade family, we propose the perfect coming home present for the kids… A private sport court in their own backyard.
